like most grandmas i know

i have known mrs. fower since i was seven & have kept in touch with christmas cards for years, even after she started to forget who i was. when i was little mrs. fower was not shy about admitting that she had read cards & notes exchanged between my best friend (her granddaughter) & i.
back then, when i was already taller than lil' ol' mrs. fower, i would retrieve whatever out-of-reach item she needed for the moment & humor her when she went on & on about my gift for writing. even though her implication was for greeting cards :), at age 10 i couldn't help feeling proud.
ms. fower is 86 & not doing so hot these days. i know i'm a little behind schedule, but here are a couple greeting card testaments try-outs...
"love will come to you,
"love will come to you,
if it already hasn't arrived.
don't tell love you're through...
why else do you think you have survived?"
barf. i think that's all i have in me. sorry mrs. fower.
