well past the point of acquaintance

true workplace harassment happens. i started documenting it this way.

September 2004 - March 7, 2005:
  • as I applied lip gloss before a meeting, said boss stated ‘it’s not like we’re going to kiss.’
  • returned an earring I lost to said boss' office, he asked ‘are you trying to break up my marriage?’
  • said boss makes terrorist references regarding a Lebanese coworker.
  • said boss said he would use his superbowl winnings for a lapdance.
  • during my interview, said boss told me i could be a booth babe if i wanted to travel.
  • said boss told me that he’s not here to give constructive criticism.
  • said boss refers to the president of our division, who is Indian, as Ghandi.
  • said boss regularily implies that i spend my personal life partying on a regular basis.
  • said boss shares stories regarding party days in college, implying drug usage at the time.
  • said boss implied that a coworker & i left early after a conference to go make-out.
  • said boss implied coworker leaving for his own bachelor party couldn’t hack it as a wholesaler based on lack of priorities.

March 8, 2005:

  • said boss commented that my shirt was on backwards, though it was not.
  • said boss claimed that ‘this is the last time’ after an error in the presence of meeting attendees, told me that there was no margin for error, that I would be on probation if I made another error – timeframe indefinite. two hours later he gave me a raise.
  • said boss referenced that my lunch time is not for my own personal use & that it interferes with my job if I rest in the lounge.
  • two coworkers suggested today that i create this timeline based on past instances they could recall regarding said boss.
since, i have laughed & ignored. and felt sorry for him & others & me. and accepted with resignation. and embarassment. don't want that fight though. i will be leaving here soon anyway.
